Dude Finder · Last updated: 24 July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Dude Finder (the "App"), developed by #3arts, based in Valencia, Spain. You can contact us at dudefinderaplication@gmail.com.
2. What data we collect
- Precise location. The App collects your device's GPS location, including while the App is closed or in the background. This is the core function of the App: it allows the members of your activities to see you on a live map.
- Alias. A nickname you choose. It is not your real name unless you decide to type it.
- Notification token. A Firebase Cloud Messaging token used to deliver push notifications to your device.
- Advertising ID. Collected by Google AdMob to serve ads inside the App.
- Activity data. Activity names, codes, membership, meeting points and in-app notifications.
We do not collect your real name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, files or payment data. The App uses anonymous authentication: there is no sign-up, no password and no account linked to your identity.
3. Why we collect it
- Location: to show you on the live map of the activities you join, to calculate distances and directions, and to power the meeting point and compass features.
- Alias: so your crew can identify you on the map.
- Notification token: to send you alerts such as "someone is looking for you" or meeting point changes.
- Advertising ID: to display ads, which fund the free version of the App.
4. Who we share it with
- Other users: your location and alias are visible only to the members of the activities you have joined. They are never public.
- Google Firebase (Firestore, Authentication, Cloud Messaging, Cloud Functions, Hosting): our infrastructure provider, which stores and processes data on our behalf.
- Google AdMob: receives your advertising ID to serve ads. See Google's Privacy Policy.
We do not sell your data and we do not share it with any other third party.
5. How long we keep it
- Your location is overwritten with each update and is deleted when you leave an activity, when the activity is deleted, or when you delete your data.
- Your alias, token and activity membership are kept while you use the App.
- If you delete your data from the App, the information listed above is permanently removed.
6. Your choices and rights
- Stop sharing at any time: use Turn off Dude Finder in Settings, or leave the activity.
- Revoke permissions: you can withdraw the location permission from your device settings at any time.
- Delete your data: Settings → Danger Zone → Delete my data. See also our data deletion page.
- Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and object to the processing of your data, and to data portability. Write to us at the address above to exercise them.
7. Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and stored on Google Firebase servers. Access rules restrict your location so it can only be read by members of your activities.
8. Children
Dude Finder is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. The "last updated" date at the top will always reflect the current version.
